That arrangement is bloody gorgeous – thank you so much. Liane Carroll (multi award-winning jazz vocalist) on James’ arrangement of her composition Dublin Morning

“A classy arrangement of Carroll’s tune Dublin Morning by trumpeter James Brady.” LondonJazzNews.com review of Liane Carroll/Guildhall Jazz Band Concert 29th February 2016.

A tightly-sprung set… James Brady’s furious, high-octave trumpet runs shimmered through the music like fireworks.  Polished and energetic.

James worked and played with a great deal of professionalism. The venue was very unconventional and the musicians adapted very quickly and very creatively.

James Brady’s playing transformed our concert. His improvisations, sensitive accompaniments and majestic solos made the evening really something to remember. One of the best players I’ve heard in a long time.

Thomas Lydon
Musical Director, Hogarth Singers

We were quite literally blown away by the original compositions and their own special arrangements of well known jazz standards, blending a refreshingly different collection of instruments (!). Altogether a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Thank you very much indeed for Sunday’s fantastic Promenade Concert.  Our Promenade audience was delighted by the programme… Your seamless progression from one piece to another while you kept lots of variety in the music took a great deal of skill… It was very successful indeed!

Penelope Robson, Promenade Concert Organiser, The Fitzwilliam Museum

Your group’s performance on Monday will be the high point of the term for most members and for some an experience to be remembered for the rest of a lifetime… You pitched it exactly right for the group and the question at the end about how each band member started and on what instruments produced some very interesting responses.

Alan Bird, organiser of the Jazz Appreciation course of the Cambridge branch of the University of the 3rd Age

From the start, I got the impression that I was dealing with a professional experienced musician and event organiser, and that I could, in full confidence, delegate all music related entertainment to James and his band. Throughout our meetings and correspondence I truly appreciated his efforts in finding out and helping me shape up what style and length of music would best suit my event, a wedding. I also appreciated his patience and flexibility in considering all my wishes and questions. On the day, the music was spectacular and all guests were very complimentary on the choice of band and music. James was excellent in all logistical aspects, too, and was in charge of all music-related logistics, leaving me time to deal with other wedding related aspects.
